PR72 coverage
What kind of coverage can you expect from the PR72
Light coverage will of course vary depending on your animal or plants lighting requirements. For a SPS reef application in a tank measuring 21.5 x 21.5 x 21.5 inches (55 x 55 x 55cm), the PR72 could be hung very close to the surface of the water and provide intense enough light for SPS corals. Using the above example, one PR72 would be required for every 21 inches of tank length for SPS dominated aquariums. Increasing the tank size to 24 x 24 x 24 inches (60 x 60 x 60cm) would require hanging the PR72 approximately 11.5 to 15.5 inches (30-40cm) above the water’s surface for full coverage. SPS corals would then have to be kept at the upper level of the aquarium but most LPS and soft corals would have the light they require within the tanks range of depth. For shallower tanks and/or frag tanks, the lens can be removed for a wider coverage.
For planted tanks, the PR72 plant model with the lens removed will nicely cover a 27.5 x 24 x 27.5 inch (70 x 60 x 70cm) tank and provide ideal light for growing aquatic plants and would allow the PR72 to be placed very near the water’s surface.
