Externally, the Atlantik V3+ looks identical to the Atlantik V3 but with improvements.

The first and most important is that the V3+ is controlled by iOS devices such as the iPad and iPhone. The second feature is 50 watts more lighting power.

The increase of power brings a more stable range and also a significant increase of PAR value compared to the V3 version. Care is also advised here for shallow tanks if running at full intensity as coral can easily be burned if acclimation is not carried out properly.

The below spectrograph shows the performance increase from 487 PAR on the V3 to 648 on the V3+ is dramatic. The distribution of the individual channels is excellent.

The below spectrograph shows a setting I made in quick set that is photosynthetically valuable. Even here we still have a PAR value of 568!

The distribution of light is also very good. The center measures a PAR of 648 and when we measure in 1.95 inch increments away from center we get PAR readings of 618, 591, 522, 428, 349, 251, 158, 82. This indicates a very good scale of distribution of the light.

The Orphek Atlantik V3+ offers a dramatic improvement over the V3 in terms of PAR. It can been seen that Orphek is number one in LED technology.

Chlorophyll and Zoaxthellae absorption is excellent in the V3+.

The careful use of the spectrum should not promote cyanobacteria which is the scourge of many aquarists. The prerequisites for a successful aquarium are all created in the V3+.
